Ricardo Matus is a local in the region of Magellan. As a naturalist he works in several research and conservation projects related with birds and also marine mammals of this region of Chile. Ricardo paints birds in watercolours and did the illustrations for the book “The Birds of Magellan” and currently is working on the plates of a field guide for the Birds of Patagonia. He lives in Punta Arenas where he works guiding special interest tourist groups since 1985.
